Notification of Admission Procedures to the Master Continuation Programmes of the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague for Academic year 2022 – 2023.

Admission to the Master Continuation Programmes of the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague (hereinafter referred to as FNSPE of the CTU) is governed by Act No. 111/1998 Coll. on Higher Education and on Changes and Amendments of other Acts, as amended, by the CTU Statute, by the Statute of the  FNSPE of the CTU in Prague, by this document and the Dean’s Directive for Admission Procedure to the Master Continuation Study Programme No. 5-2021 (hereinafter referred to as the Dean´s Directive).

Conditions for admission to the Master Continuation Programmes are as follows:

  1. Submission of one completed application to a master continuation programme no later than June 30th, 2022 electronically via http://prihlaska.cvut.cz. For details on submission see the Dean´s Directive.
  2. Payment of admission administration fee amounting to 850 CZK related to the admission procedure costs. The details of payment and proof of payment are specified by the Dean´s Directive.
  3. Completion of secondary or secondary technical education (by having passed a secondary school-leaving examination) and graduation in a Bachelor or Master Programme in an equivalent or similar field.
  4. Submission of the secondary school-leaving certificate issued by a school based in the Czech Republic or Slovak Republic and the Bachelor Degree or Master Degree Diploma, as appropriate, earned at and issued by an institution of higher education accredited in the Czech Republic or Slovak Republic in a manner specified by the Dean´s Directive. If the school-leaving examination was administered or the Bachelor or Master Degree obtained (as appropriate) in a foreign country (except for the Slovak Republic), submission of a proof (as specified in the Dean´s Directive) that the education obtained in a foreign country is of equal standard or has been validated in the Czech Republic (this does not apply to the Bachelor graduates from the FNSPE of the CTU in Prague).
  5. For programmes offered in the Czech language, competence in Czech or Slovak, as evidenced by a secondary school-leaving examination or by a certified examination “Czech language for foreign students“ at a level not below B2. For programmes offered in the English language, competence in English at a level not below B2. Submission of examination certificates is specified by the Dean´s Directive (this does not apply to the Bachelor graduates from the FNSPE of the CTU in Prague).
  6. Applicants are requested to prove their English language competence at a minimum level of SERR B2 either

    a. by submitting a proof of having taken and passed the whole secondary education programme in English, or

    b. by submitting one of the following English language certificates:

    Cambridge English Language Certificate - level B2 (e.g. FCE)
    IELTS – degree 5.5 or higher
    TOEFL – level B2
    City & Guilds International ESOL – level B2
    telc English B2

    Student´s English language competence may be proven by submitting even some other certificate. The decision of acceptance or non-acceptance of this certificate is up to the Department of Humanities and Languages.

    c. Unless the student is able to prove their competence by submitting any of the documents under a) and b) above, or, in case the certificate submitted is not recognized (see b) above), the student shall take an entrance examination in English administered by the Department of Humanities and Languages.
  7. Successful passage of entrance examination administered by the Faculty or an examination waiver granted by the Dean. The date and form of entrance examination are specified by the Dean´s Directive.
  8. In the past, the applicant did not enrol more than once in a Master Continuation Programme of the FNSPE of CTU.

It is the Dean´s right to exempt from the entrance examination applicants who have graduated in an equivalent Bachelor Programme from the FNSPE of the CTU, or in a programme of an equal standard from some other institution of higher education. The details are specified in the Dean´s Directive.

The verification date of the above requirements, including submission of all documents, is September 16th, 2022. The decision as to admission will be issued within 30 days.

Decision as to an appeal for review of the results will be issued within 30 days of the receipt of the appeal.

The applicant has the right to inspect all documents pertinent to the decision on their admission during the office hours of the Department of Student Affairs, but no later than the next working day, if the applicant is required to take an entrance examination.

Admission procedure to the Master Continuation Programmes terminates on the day the decision as to admission or non-admission of all applicants for the programme has been made.
