People who within the last 14 days (after 11. 02. 2020) have been to Italy, Iran, China, Hongkong, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, are at risk of having been exposed to coronavirus infection. These persons are required for a period of 14 days after returning to the Czech Republic not to spend time on the university premises and, in particular, not to attend classes, not to visit canteens, libraries, study rooms and other common areas of the University. They are to comply with the following regulations.

Preventive measures to reduce your risk of coronavirus infection

  • Frequently clean hands by using alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water
  • When coughing and sneezing cover your mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue – throw tissue away immediately and wash your hands
  • Avoid close contact with anyone that has fever and cough
  • horoughly cook meat and eggs

If you show symptoms of a respiratory illness (shortness of breath, coughing, and high temperature)

  • Remain at home or dormitory and avoid contact with other people.
  • Contact a doctor immediatelly by phone or a medical emergency centre at phone number 155 and provide further information about any time spent in a high-risk location.

People who returned from the high-risk locations listed above are required for a period of 14 days after returning to the Czech Republic not to spend time on the university premises and, in particular, not to attend classes, not to visit canteens, libraries, study rooms and other common areas of the University. They are to comply with the following regulations:

  • give your personal details (name, phone, e-mail, the place that you have come from, your date of return, your place of residence in the Czech Republic) to your supervisor, who will pass these details on to the control point.   • for a period of 14 days, isolate yourself from contact with other persons (to the maximum possible extent). Various approaches can be used:

                  - workers who can work on a home office basis will do so

                  - administrative and other  workers will stay at home (on full pay)

  • Students will be excused from lessons for two weeks after returning from a restricted area (it will be necessary to prove (or affirm) that they were present in such an area or that they passed through the area). These students will as far as possible be given assistance with studying by distance learning and will be provided with self-study materials.
  • Students staying at a dormitory must contact the management of the Service Facilities Administration of the Czech Technical University in Prague (SUZ CTU) and move to the isolation floor of the hotel at Masaryk dormitory.
  • Any person exposed to risk who shows any signs of flu or of a respiratory ailment is required without delay to inform our contact point and get into contact with a doctor or with a health station (+420 733 673 949, at night: +420 733 673 900).
