Abstract:
Classicalization is a scheme, alternative to the Wilsonian approach to non-renormalizable theories, which allows a theory to avoid entering the strong-coupling regime by producing high-multiplicity states made of a large number of soft quanta. In turn, at high energies the large number of constituents makes these states behave almost classically. After reviewing some of the key features of this scenario I will discuss how this picture turns out to be particularly effective when applied to the gravitational interaction.
